The easiest way to show our support team what issues you're encountering is to take a screenshot of your display. If you're unsure how to do this, below you'll find step by step instructions on how to take a screenshot whether you're a PC user or MAC user.
For PC users:
There are two different ways to take a screenshot!
Snipping Tool
For most Windows computers, by default, there is a nifty application called the "Snipping Tool" that can be located in the Start menu (or Cortana).
- Tap Start/Cortana -> Search "S" or "Snipping Tool" -> Open Snipping Tool
- Once opened, tap "New" and drag your cursor over the area you would like to take a screenshot of (for more details, read the article here).
- After you've snipped the image you want, tap the save icon (
) and save it to the folder you want. Then go ahead and attach the image to your ticket via Zendesk or email!
Print Screen
If you don't have the Snipping Tool or don't want to worry about getting all of the needed information, you can try the print screen functionality.
- Press the PrintScreen or "PrtScn" button on your keyboard, typically located near the F12 key, to copy an image of everything on your screen
- You can press "Alt+PrtScn" to copy only the active window
- Open your Microsoft Paint program (or any other image editor)
- After opening the Paint program, at the very top left hand side of the program, select "Paste" to paste the image/screenshot
- You can also press "Ctrl+V" to paste the image
- You can also press "Ctrl+V" to paste the image
- You can now save the file as either a JPEG, PNG, or BMP by selecting the blue drop down menu at the top left hand side of the program and clicking "Save As".
- Make sure to save it to your Desktop or a folder you can easily find on your computer.
For MAC users:
Capture Entire Screen
- Press Command (⌘)+Shift+3
- The screenshot is added to your desktop.
Capture a Portion of Your Screen
- Press Command (⌘)+Shift+4 to enable a crosshair pointer that will let you select a portion of the screen
- Place the pointer at the corner of the area you want to capture
- Click-and-hold the mouse button to enable the selection area
- Drag the mouse until the selection area includes everything you want in the screenshot
- Release the mouse button to take the screenshot
Capture a Specific Window
- Press Command (⌘)+Shift+4 to enable a crosshair pointer
- Press the Space bar to change the pointer into a camera icon
- Move the camera pointer over the window to highlight it
- Click the mouse to capture a screenshot of that window
After following the above steps, you are now ready to share your image!
